Amitash Science is an independent science media website/webapp/app (henceforth referred to as “app”) that provides digital science content to its users.
To efficiently run our app, we collect user data. Privacy of our users is very important to us. Therefore, we take industry standard measures to ensure privacy of our users and their data. This document outlines details of the data we collect, how we store, use and process it, and how we protect it. This privacy policy applies to our app and services only. It does not apply to third parties that we do not own or control.
Server Logs
When users visit our app, the following data is automatically recorded by our server.
- IP Address: The public Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device used to access.
- Device ID: The device name, serial number or unique identification number, etc., used to access.
- User-Agent: The browser or device user-agent used used to access. This contains information such as broweser version, operating system version, etc.
- Timestamp: The date and time of access.
- Page Details: The name, location, size and other details of the page or file that was accessed.
- Referrer: The URL or origin from which our app was accessed.
Server logs are securely stored on our servers and are only accessible by authorised server administrators. We use these logs to analyse traffic, monitor performance of our services and comply with law-enforcement. We store server logs for at least 2 years and periodically purge old log data.
Information Supplied by Users
Users may choose to provide their information to us in situations including, but not limited to, the following:
Create an account on our app
Users may create an account on our app/services to customise their usage experience. When they choose to do so, we ask them for information required to register/create an account for them on our systems. This information includes, but is not limited to, name, mobile number, address, e-mail address, date of birth, demographical information, gender, interests, preferences, place of work, position, country, payment information etc.
Users may also register/create an account with us using third-party services such as Facebook, Google etc. In such cases, after the user permits, we will retrieve their information from the third-party.
User information is stored in a secure and encrypted format in databases on our servers and cannot be directly accessed by anyone except authorised members of our team.
Participation in our app/services
Users may voluntarily participate in our app/services and provide their data to us. For example, during interactions via comments or other submissions you have made to our services, such as online forums, subscription to newsletters, in response to a survey, while requesting certain services or products, or to enter a sweepstakes, contest, or other promotion.
Authenticated users may contact us anytime to have their data deleted from our systems.
